Patriarchy

Assuring that each child has a right to a known father is called “patriarchy” and is necessary for inducing men to take risks and make the sacrifices necessary in the present to build things they will never personally live to enjoy in the future.

When you abolish this, when you abolish "patriarchy," you are dooming your civilization to a future where men only do what is immediately necessary for their own sustenance. That's not a pathway to the stars, it's a pathway back to mud huts.
