This was fine overall. However, the pat down was highly insulting. I found it to be highly degrading. I found it to self-serving and somewhat offensive in a manner that I am unable to write at the moment.

SYNOPSIS - 1

On January 17 2018 at 1124 hours Dan BERLADYN attended PMPD front counter to request a keep the peace at ["HIS Rightful Home"] while he removed belongings from his van. Sgt GORMICK and Cst WONG attended the residence with BERLADYN and assisted him with moving a lot of stuff out of his van back into the house as he did not want it left in his van. ["HIS Mother"] was ok with Dan moving his belongings. Dan then left the residence without further incident. BERLADYN advised that he would have someone else return the van this evening if another officer was unable to come by and keep the peace if he choose not to take the van with him. ["HIS Mother"] was ok with this arrangement Concluded.

This was an exceptionally hard mental task, as I was trying to mentally log each bit of crucial property taken from my truck and into the house, as once I left - it was freely available for others with ill-intent to rifle through.

MISCELLANEOUS NOTES - 2

On January 17, 2017 at approximately 1130 hours, Sgt GORMICK received a phone call from BERLADYN. A summary of that phone call is as follows:

BERLADYN wanted to attend ["HIS Rightful"] residence on ["Foress Drive"] to remove the belongings that were in his van that were parked on the property.

Sgt GORMICK advised BERLADYN that she would contact ["HIS Mother"] to see if she was willing to store the property.

Sgt GORMICK advised BERLADYN that they would facilitate a stand by and keep the peace, but if police had to leave suddenly, that BERLADYN would have to re-attend again.

Sgt GORMICK contacted and she stated that BERLADYN has a lot of his property already in the residence so it is fine if he wants to store the property there

Sgt GORMICK called BERLADYN back and advised him to attend to the police station and that police would drive him up to the residence and facilitate him moving his belongings At approximately 1300 hours BERLADYN attended PMPD and Sgt GORMICK transported him in her police vehicle up to the residence. Prior to BERLADYN getting into the police vehicle, Sgt GORMICK conducted a pat down search.

Sgt GORMICK located a hard, rectangular item in his jacket pocket and asked BERLADYN what it was. He stated it was an audio recorder that was not on. When BERLADYN removed the recorder it was in fact recording. BERLADYN then turned the audio recording off.

Sgt GORMICK then transported him up to the residence and assisted with moving his belongings out of the van into the residence. After the items were moved into the residence, BERLADYN removed the van from the property. He was advised that he could not return the van to the property unless he was in the presence of police or a friend returned it on his behalf.

Sgt GORMICK had spoken to ["HIS Mother"] ahead of time and she advised she had no issues if the van had to be returned back to the property.

BERLADYN was easy to deal with during this interaction but showed visible emotion when he spoke about his family. BERLADYN spoke about being suicidal in the past but stated he was not suicidal now.

Sgt GORMICK tried to prevent the conversation from going in the direction of his past and tried to keep the interaction positive and facilitate the storage of his belongings.

This concluded Sgt GORMICK's dealings in the matter.

Overall this was fine. It was professional and the Officer's had attempted to positively meet any and all of my needs. For perspective it would have been great if I could have had the convenience to log appropriately in return. Most police interactions, even in the best of instances like this one, were full of personal hits to my 'mental health'.

For instance, telling me that they would simply have to leave if they get a call (as I am not important enough after they have collectively destroyed my life and I could easily end up dead) was something that I did not need to hear. I understand their side of things, but this would have been much better if I could have logged everything with the same comfort as the Officers.

As far as the recorder being on, if I had said it was not recording, then I believed it was not recording. I vaguely remember this incident and the embarrassment over such. I likely fumbled with the idea of recording, but seeing that the police were responsive and everything seemed above board, that "nice" part of me likely decided not to record. You have to understand that for me, my whole mentality was to be perfectly truthful without fail.

Having said that, anytime that I was "nice" (by turning the recorder off) in order to conduct interactions in "good faith" only went against my own principles. Early on, I wanted everything in text and/or recorded. There was nothing wrong in this interaction overall, but in other instances were I did fail to turn the recorder on, I lost valuable material / evidence / logging.

It's only natural, but I find some of the police logging here to be self-serving. I did not want to talk to the Officers. In fact, my whole mandate has been talk as little as possible since being forced from my home in 2016. It has always been more important to write once very accurately. So as far as controlling the conversation and keeping things positive, do understand it was never in my interest to conduct any unnecessary dialogue.

A sore point of this interaction was the fact that I was trying to visually / mentally log every item that came out of the van while instructing the Officers how to remove property only to see them just do whatever they wanted to get the job over and done with. I can partially understand that on their part, but for my shoes knowing that everything would be highly vulnerable this was very painful to see. I needed to mentally see every piece.

One other thing that I am going to put here until my next revision was the odd fact that I noticed a box out already out of the truck and emptied. Which was something that left me feeling that someone was already inside the truck as it sat there vulnerable. Of course I was rushed by the police so there was no ability to really fully ascertain if someone had already been inside and had messed with boxes containing certain items / information.

From past police experience, I could almost see the police themselves entering the vehicle, not to mention my siblings. My concerns, my privacy, my rights, my life... have been of little concern to everyone else. Again however to finish off, there was nothing to really cry foul over in this interaction. It could have been better as always, but over all it was positive and professional.
