Subject: STATEMENT OF PALMER, LISAOn February 19, 2021 at approximately 1237 hours, Cst KUIPERS obtained an audio statement from Lisa PALMER (PALMER) while at 560 Foress Drive, Port Moody. PALMER provided the following summarized statement:
- Her mother has not been living at 560 Foress Drive for some time.
- Her mother asked her to attend the residence to pick up some items.
- She attended on February 10, 2021.
- As she entered she noticed the door between the basement and the upper living area was open a couple of inches.
- She immediately left the residence as she was fearful for her safety.
- She was aware that Daniel BERLADYN had conditions not to attend the upper living living area.
- Her mother confirmed with her that the door was locked when she last left the residence.
- She was advised to return to the residence on a later date and secure the door.
- She returned on this date with her mother and brother, Jim [BERLADYN], to lock the door.
- When the entered they noticed the door between the basement and upper living area to be wide open.
- Her mother went downstairs to speak with Daniel and they had an argument in regards to him upstairs.
- Daniel had his mother's mail and refused to give it back.
- Their mother attempted to close/lock the door, however, Daniel prevented her from doing that by blocking the door.
- Jim Berladyn assisted and eventually closed/locked the door.
- Daniel does not have a key to the door and the door locks from upper unit side.
- It was believed that the door had been tampered with in order for him to open it.
- Her mother advised there were dishes and multiple food packages that were from the upper floor which indicated he was upstairs without permission.
- Daniel also has a condition not be in contact with her; however, there was no contact them during this incident.
At approximately 1244 hours the statement was concluded.
