412-2015-5507 — National Lampoon
September 26th , Colin Palmer -> I hear a honking truck and I look in the mirror to see a swerving vehicle behind me as I drive down Lougheed Hwy. I can’t believe what I am seeing as I realize who it is. It’s Colin Palmer, I haven’t seen him in five years or so. I put down the window and let him say his piece to me, I never say anything bad back. He’s screaming, yelling, cursing and fingering me as he states he hates me.
The car in front of him stopped and I just kept driving. It reminded me of something right out of a National Lampoon movie. The Red Neck crazy brother in law. It was just like that. On the way home, I became concerned he would cause problems some other time down the road in my extremely vulnerable situation so I decided I should make a Police report. Just to report it. My instincts told me that I would regret not doing so.
[pdf-embedder url="./archive/pdf/412-2015-5507.pdf"]There is a lot that can be said about this interaction. The Port Moody Police were already acting on information that was wrong in their computers. I could actually hear my eldest brother's self-serving words being spoken through Constable HUNTER. It was almost as if there was a pre-loaded a script that would derail any of my needs, and the police were blindly following suit.
SYNOPSIS - 1

BERLADYN was thankful for the advice. BERLADYN stated that he does not want police to ever contact him through his mother because of the rocky relationship so he had given a name of [ - BLANKED NAME - ]. PM VS will be asked to follow up with a phone call to offer any assistance.

2016 Notes:
- I phone the police regarding a "domestic". I state that it is NON-EMERGENCY.
- I ask for an officer to meet me away from the house as I do not want anyone to know that I have contacted the police.
- I tell the police to take their time in arranging this meeting as I wished to be accommodating to their needs
- In dialogue, as a meeting place, I suggest the KY Market at x-specified time 30 minutes later
- The police soon rudely phone back rather shortly before the specified time is up and ask why I am not there to meet them
- I quickly head out of the house and I arrive at the KY Market where Constable George HUNTER speaks to me
- I mention the phone call regarding the fact that it was unnecessary
- It is explained that I stated "domestic" and that they take such calls seriously as an explanation for the urgency
- I tell them that I simply want to log an incident with Colin PALMER
- Both PMPD Officers seem rather dismissive and uninterested
- I choose to focus on Cst. HUNTER as he clearly is easier to engage
- Cst. HUNTER kept wanting to brush off my intent. He needed persuasion
- I note the other Officer still sitting in his car, parked opposing, but in parallel to Cst. HUNTER. His head was face down into his hand which was covering his eyes. He acted as if he was embarrassed for my person. I noted that he was almost laughing to himself.
- I strongly wished that I had only one Officer to interact with. The second character was throwing me off and taxing my person with unprofessional conduct.
- Without the internal strength to do so, I continue to dig deeper and insist that they log the incident explaining more and more as I began to partially crack with emotional tears as the lack of regard for my person only ads additional strain that I can no longer endure.
- Cst. HUNTER agreed to look into matters as he asked me to step away from his vehicle so that he may read the police files in comfort.
- Cst. HUNTER mentions “Living in the Past” which throws me off psychologically. Those are my eldest brother Jim BERLADYN’s words. My arch-enemy to some extent.
- I acknowledged to myself that the police were foolishly misdirected and that they must have my brother's words on file. This just acted as a further shock to my system as such a thing was very dangerous.
- Cst. HUNTER guarantees me that I will never have a problem with Colin PALMER again. Not knowing what this fully meant, I somewhat felt bad for Colin PALMER.
- None of this was sitting fully well with me as the police continually proved to my person that they do not understand, nor care about, the actual dynamics.
- Again, I insist that I want the incident logged. Without the internal energy to do so, I continue to insist that they log the incident explaining more and more.
- I tell Cst. HUNTER of issues with my vehicle in the past and even of a neighbour offering the suggestion that it was my brother in law Colin PALMER who was doing such things.
- I would routinely get flat tires on the driveway, no were else.
- Eventually these flat tires would get worse and worse before they finally stopped. In the last of such events, the flat was at the sidewall ruining the whole tire. This instead of the more minor repair requiring a simple plug. Right Rear Passenger Tire, the easiest to intentionally deflate.
- Cst. HUNTER finally agrees that he will put in the effort to log the contact.
- Overtired from the night before, having exhausted emotions, and while under a lot of stress I had noted that the other Officer still had appeared to have no empathy, no respect, no concern for my person.
- The other officer left the scene at this point.
- I insisted that a police file created to log the incident stating that I don’t know how his life works, but for me, when I see something that’s going to hit me down the road, it generally does.
- I share with the following about my life with Cst. HUNTER:
- They have destroyed me
- They have wiped me out
- It has all transferred to me
- I have to cut them out
- I am unrecoverable
- I was highly suicidal in the Winter of 2013/2014
- Cst. HUNTER told me that I needed Victim Services and not to kill myself, nor to waste my life away on drugs.
- In reply, I told him that I was too smart to do that. Quite frankly, the police were treating me with a gross miss characterization. I was not some confused teenager and I likely had better life teachers than these two had had. Perhaps even more discipline, self-accountability, and clearer determination as well.
- Cst. HUNTER offered his hand to shake.
- I did not even feel the self-worth to shake his hand.
- I drove back home thinking perhaps I should drop my pride and accept that I have been victimized. I didn’t like it, I am too proud, but I had started thinking perhaps that I really should see Victim Services. I have been abused and taken advantage of for a very very long time.
- My thinking regarding Victim Services reminded me of my father, victimized that is. I concluded that I had needed to see Victim Services and that I needed to do that for him.
- Constable George HUNTER's obvious training in directing me to Victim Services was what I had actually needed to hear. In my bid to be polite and encouraging of the police, I freely gave positive review. However, in all honestly compliments are a fools game.
