More kids this year. Some I am still friends with and still in touch with over forty years later. I remember this day. I wasn't too excited that I wasn't within reach of such and such girl. It was just the way everything unfolded. She ended up standing next to my longest friend. There was nothing I could do. He was that first friend you call up and ask to play. I still remember that first time I called his house. I still remember the phone number and dialing the numbers. Can Simon play with me?

It's funny, I remember going to his house. I remember being on the swing in his backyard when his mother called us in for dinner. I remember that undeniable feeling, that undeniable thought that just struck me. We had more than others. More toys, more televisions, more kids, more... more... more. However Simon had something I didn't have and I knew right then and there on that swing that one day I would pay for that. Life would be good now, but in the future I was to be without.
