Kind of a rough picture.
Sorry Uncle Alex, I couldn't find the one I wanted. I think posted it right here in the start of this website in August of 2016. I swear it spooked an RCMP Member out as it was a picture of Uncle Alex with his beloved dog who stood over six feet tall. A Bull Mastiff. That was a big dog. I'll never forget. It gave me a love chump right on the left nipple and left a huge bruise. He was jealous that I was petting another dog.
Uncle Alexander, 1985. This probably wasn't one of his best years. People love to blame him, but I think they forget to thank him. I think he did good for people that they just took for granted. I might be wrong, but it was my understanding that he is the one that started everything. He was the original President. This guy was a talker. Boy he could talk. I don't care what anyone says, he was good in his own manner.
I have listened to others and I understand. However, in my books, Uncle Alexander did me no wrong. He was always good to me. He was really good actually. He was great to hear speak. He had this deep voice that just carried. The tone was always upbeat and whole. It was happy, loving, fun. He is the one that wanted to be a radio announcer when he was young. Since learning that, I could see it. He could do it.
It was always uplifting and heart warming to hear him speak. Most of my uncles were like that for me. Especially Uncle Alex however. His voice. The fact he was close to dad. I am laughing, because they were close in ways I cannot disclose. I can just picture my dad. It's just funny at this point to look back to think of their relationship. My dad told him, I know he did. He warned him. He told him. Alex ended up where Alex ended up.
Then my dad, the one with the most to lose, took all the risks to get him back. No other brother did that. My dad did it. He risked everything to save his brother's life. Dad: "I don't care. That's my brother". My father must have went through hell over all the things he had to do in his life. I am proud of my dad. Even my lawyer asked who this was. I am laughing... I love you Uncle Alex. I don't care. You are good in my books.
The only thing I remember of anything remotely bad, was Uncle Alex giving me heck one day. I deserved it. I own it. He actually did me a favour. I was hurt over it at the time, but he taught me. Don't go in someone else's car and monkey with the power seats, and the power mirrors, and everything else. He used to let me drive his Cadillac, and I guess I made it a habit of playing with everything a little too much.
I can imagine him having to go somewhere... and running late or what have you, only to find some some kid monkeyed with everything. I totally messed with his car. I needed to be taught not to do that. It stuck.
I would get annoyed on the wrong day too if someone changed all the settings in my car and walked away. I am actually thankful for him teaching me, because I learned from it. Don't mess with someone else's car. Even if they were good enough to spend a ton of money they didn't have to spend on fuel for an 8.0L engine for me to drive around all day. Those were big cars.
This guy could tell you stories and keep you entertained.
He was pulled over once by the RCMP. He gave the cop hell: "Can't you see I am driving a Cadillac? What is wrong with you?" They both laughed apparently. Uncle Alex had a great personality. I think he did. I think he just suffered from some losses. He took too much risk getting everything going for everyone and when it faltered, he suffered and ended up with much of the blame. Not exactly like that, but like that.
If it was not for him, a lot of things in this family would not have happened. Lot's of good things that is. That is how I see him anyways. He was always good to me. He was always there to help. I don't know. I wish my words were better, but I am thankful for the things he did for me. He did things others wouldn't do. I am not the only one too. He helped another cousin out when he was in a jam. Saved his butt.
Uncle Alex knew a lot of people. Including Police Chiefs.
I don't know. I wanted to make another post. There's more to my family than just my dad's brothers, but tonight I am realising looking at pictures that it would take me a long time cover everyone. Big family. I don't think my siblings realise, but they owe Uncle Alex too. He did a lot for us. Everyone did. Everyone pulled together for my Dad, my Mom and this House. We were lucky to have such a good family.
For my siblings to do what they have done... it's just completely wrong.
