Black Cats - Orange Cats. During the snow storm here...
During the snow storm here, I had noted that someone had made one set of footprints directly to my truck. I had assumed this was from being so open online. Either with government entities or within my local community. For the first time living here I was too physically drained to shovel the driveway. Formerly I would always grab the snow shovel and my inner pride would coincide with my drive to stay ahead of the snow shovel game. Alarming as well during this period was the kids hanging around, right along side our fence. We have never had that. Not in all of our years here. I questioned whether this the result in the decline of social standards or a result of my own posting within the local community. Just the same on a walk back home at 10:00 pm one night there was a group of kids blaring terrible music off the top of the playground hill. I simply do not recall such arrogance by the local youth. I knew better than to say anything knowing what happens when the youth is challenged. I have witnessed the neighbour pay the price several times over for telling kids to respect the others that live here.
There are only two ways into my home. In driving out of my neighbourhood I laid eyes to a parked black Lincoln Executive'L, completely blacked out. Not a big deal except it was parked in just the right location to act as a statement. In reality it was the licence plate that caught my attention. Surreal. I ended up driving around the block and taking another look. With government decals and commercial plates it had had all the tags on it to lead me to the thought that it was a car that had just sat dormant with the exception of certain uses. The registration was sitting in plain view on the passenger seat. Much like an Officer or Investigator might do. In seeing who I was openly writing to so frequently, with the little bits of non-confirm-able feedback, two plus two equaled four. Naturally with far too much stimulation from coffee, cigarettes and facebook all while not having enough sleep, I could not ascertain whether I was kidding myself or not. Not wanting to embarrass anyone in the world, I started referring the car which never moved as a Black Cat.
In seeing the Number Nine pop up everywhere I started feeling like maybe I was the Boy-King. Maybe the car was there as a statement. As in everyone stay away from me. This is over your heads so to speak. Cats keep mice away. Online I appeared to at least find myself in the same circles as those with very high positions. The people that I see cross my profiles as suggestions for whom I may know is rather impressive. Never mind the feedback and chats from which may or may not be impersonations with 'fake' accounts. Eventually I pushed my comments too far and yesterday I noted the car was gone. This was a little heart-breaking as it gave me feeling of re-assurance.
In it's exact same place was now an orange car with out-dated government decals. I thought that I may as well take a look. Right on the passenger seat, much like the registration of the last car and turned just the right way to provide for a clear view, was a healthcare list of private facilities and and perhaps thirty doctors. Given my statements, and given the fact that one could almost interpret these facilities to be an exact match of a certain philanthropist online, it seemed appropriate that the list may be for me. From a black cat to an orange cat. Not wanting to embarrass anyone I elected to simply refer to this orange cat as Garfield. From black to orange, the colours of Halloween. I come to confirm that I am simply reading too much into things. The orange car is local. The blacked out Lincoln is actually registered one subdivision over. It is a corporate car for rental by a local limousine company.
The dangers of seeing what we want to see. Or in the least, the dangers of seeing what we have in the conscious mind to keep an eye out out for. I am good at making a fool of myself - and that's Ok.
