| For Emotional well being, I am tired, exhausted, under-slept and worn out. The night before I was up until 3:30am were Mark BERLADYN told me my mother would have killed herself if she lost that house. I had the bank to reconfigure a loan with. I had to secure steady employment. I had to finish setting up the truck. I had my family members manipulating the situation at home. And I just had this little spoiled prick take his aggression out on me while I was driving home. |

Port Moody Police Department
I remember I was laying in bed resting when I came home. I layed there and thought about the incident with Colin PALMER. I didn't want to phone, but something inside me stated to do it. It was important.
I phoned the Port Moody Police Department, non-emergency. I asked for an Officer to meet me away from the Residence. I told them it was non-emergency to take their time. No rush. She asked what it was for and I stated it was Domestic, they could meet me at the KY Market. I stressed non-emergency.
The KY Market was a common place for them to stop and park. She gave me a time frame and I relaxed, thinking I'd see them there at xx time. Suddenly my phone rang, they wanted to know where I was, they were there early. I left immediately to meet them, feeling.. odd about their call and immediate nature.
KY Market
On the West side of the parking lot, one patrol car was nearest the building facing West. A truck I believe, perhaps a Ford SUV, unmarked, was facing East. They were parked alongside each other so they could talk at each others doors.
I pulled in perpendicular to them, facing North, with plenty of room for them to maneuver. With an early wave to let them know I was friendly, I got out and approached them.
PO108 George Hunter, came out of his car and spoke to me. I was caught off guard by the presence of the second Officer. I am always better at opening up to just one person. I brought up the fact that they were early and that I only needed one Officer.
In reply, they had stated that I said this was a Domestic, so they always send two Officers along with a priority. I re-assured them that they only needed one Officer, there's no sense wasting resources. I went on to explain that I just wanted an incident logged.
I told PO108 HUNTER about Colin PALMER and the aggressive nature of his driving, the fingering, the screaming the yelling and that I just wanted it logged for a record. PO108 HUNTER was dismissive, not taking my request seriously. He didn't want to do it. I had to begin to insist.
I didn't think this was very Professional of them. I was tired, worn down. I had to start explaining further which, being rather emotionally drained and tired, caused me to start ungluing inside. I was emotionally weakening.
I stated that I had not seen Colin PALMER for (5)Five Years. When I mentioned that, PO108 HUNTER was in disbelief. Five years he exclaimed in surprise. At this point, he agreed to least look at each of our files, asking me to step away from the car.
After PO108 HUNTER looked at the files, he spoke to me regurgitating my oldest brother's words. Whatever was on my file, I do not know, I do know word for word - I heard my brother repeated right through PO108 HUNTER. This was alarming and naturally very upsetting for me.
PO108 HUNTER still did not want to log a report. He non-chalantly claimed that I will not have a problem with Colin PALMER. For me, it was frustrating. All I wanted this bozo to do, was to log an incident. That simple. I wanted him to log what I told him, the important points of what I told him. I was very clear about the incident.
I started to crack, going on about how I had to cut them out of my life. I explained almost killing myself.
Looking to my left, the other Officer [wish I had his name] had his hand over his forehead and was looking down as if in disgust for seeing tears down my face. It only made doing this harder while giving me a small impression of his character in duty.
I still had to insist that PO108 HUNTER log the incident. I stated to him "I don't know about your life, but in my life, when I see somethings that's going to hit me down the road it generally does". I want it logged.
At some point, perhaps now, the Officer in the unmarked SUV decided to leave. That made things easier. In tears and repeating myself again, PO108 HUNTER stated that I needed to see Victim Services. That dawned on me as odd and I didn't like it at first. Yet another part of me felt he was right, his training took over and I found respect in him for that.
PO108 HUNTER finally agreed to log the incident. I mean nothing by this, but I personally filed a note in my mind that he will fail me in that log. He will not log what is important to me, but I was at least content to have him enter something on the information given.
He promised that I would never have a problem with Colin PALMER. He encouraged me again to see Victim Services. Then he put out his hand for me to shake, I didn't even feel worthy enough to shake his hand.
I left driving away thinking of my Father, thinking of Victim Services and then realizing... that we were both the same that way. I left realizing, that I needed to do this not just for myself, but for him.
( It was HUNTER's Training on the Victim Services and how he finally picked up on the cues, is where my respect for him came from. Like everyone, there's good and bad in people. From where I stand today, I am probably going to drop a lot of the "good" mask that I intentionally gloss over others with. This will be revised as I gather more notes. It was written largely from memory and one set of notes. There are more. They will fine tune the details of what was said. )
Note: This is still a DRAFT of the exchange
- I call the PMPD over a NON-EMERGENCY Domestic issue
- I ask for an Officer to meet me away from the house
- I state it is NON-EMERGENCY and to take their time
- We meet at the KY Market where Officer George HUNTER speaks to me
- I note he is a good Officer and PMPD should be proud.
- I tell him that I simply want to log the incident with Colin PALMER
- HUNTER is in disbelief that I have not seen Colin PALMER in five years
- HUNTER needs persuasion as he keeps wanting to brush it off
- I insist he creates a file stating that I don’t know how his life works, but for me, when I see something that’s going to hit me down the road, it generally does.
- I insist I want this logged.
- I note the other Officer still sitting in his car, parked opposing but parallel. He has his hand over his eyes in embarrassment. I wished I only had ONE Officer to interact with as this other guy throws me off.
- HUNTER asks me to step away as he reads our files
- HUNTER guarantees me that I will never have a problem with Colin PALMER
- I tell him of issues with my vehicle in the past and a neighbor telling me it was Colin PALMER.
- I would routinely get flat tires on the driveway, no were else. Eventually these flat tires became worse before they stopped. In the end, the flat was at the sidewall ruining the whole tire, instead of just requiring a plug. Right Rear Passenger Tire, the easiest to intentionally deflate.
- HUNTER then finally agrees he will log the contact
- HUNTER mentions “Living in the Past” among other key phrases which throws me completely off as they are Jim BERLADYN’s words.
- They must have Jim BERLADYN’s words on file.
- Overtired, emotional from the night before and under a lot of stress, I share with Officer HUNTER my life. I tell him:
- They have destroyed me
- They have wiped me out
- It all transferred to me
- I have to cut them out
- I am unrecoverable
- I was highly suicidal in the Winter of 2013/2014
- I was in tears, the other Officer still had his hand over his eyes, looking down.
- HUNTER told me that I needed Victim Services and not to kill myself or waste my life away on drugs.
- I told him that I was too smart to do that.
- He offered me his hand to shake and I didn’t even feel the self-worth to do so.
- I drove back home thinking perhaps I should drop my pride and accept that I have been victimized. I didn’t like it, too proud, but I started thinking perhaps I should see Victim Services. I have been abused and taken advantage of for a very very long time.
- My thinking reminded me of my father, victimized that is.
