Interior View - even more appealing in person.[/caption]
Built in 1859, here I am visiting the oldest Church on the British Columbia Mainland. I appreciate the history.
Warm and welcoming, the people remind me of extended-family. They are uplifting, yet with only a cold shower, poor sleep and recent events - I feel unpresentable.
Even more unsettling is the common notion that these people have all seen me somewhere. Internally, I am concerned that they have false news. It is very stressing. Many people mention that I look very familiar.
In requesting to speak privately to the Reverend, once more, the Anglican Church does not disappoint. My views are only strengthened through the words we share. Again, I find myself affirming a personal respect for the Anglican Church.
Never raised with a Sunday Church, I do my best to partake in services. This day is the first Sunday of Advent.
Lord, call to this your church of St. John Parish, Maple Ridge,
A true shepard, a person of God,
A minister of Christ;
Inspire, guide and bless us all,
And make us a church joyful in worship
And united in witness,
Working, caring, praising, loving,
The the glory of your name;
Through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen
I had my own reasons for looking up this Church, for deciding to come this day. Although, I struggled to keep up with services in which I am not schooled in - for the most part, this was relatively easy. I only lost my place a few times in following along. Joining in on the Singing was the harder part for me, even though this is an easy place to overcome such inhibitions.
Through the Services, the Community and everything there is to take in, once again I found myself enjoying my own Interpretation against the more common Literal Interpretation of Christianity. It wasn't in my plans, but a very observant Member stated just the right words to entice me to come back.
These are good people in a good place. Come back, I would.
