Let's break writing ice today, before I complete somethings I need to do.
As I waiting in Court Room #3, I was both observing and climatizing. Looking to my far right was a decent enough looking guy. Looking to my far left was an attractive enough woman. I wondered why they were both there. For some reason they both stood out to me. However, there was no connection to the dots.
I didn't see any reason to stay in the Court Room seeing my business was finished until a later time this day. Other people were (noisily) coming and going, I too plotted a break. In my best attempt not to disrupt the Judge or any proceedings I quietly left the room.
I ended up outside on the steps, again observing their uncleanliness and checking the condition of the Flags. Here I bumped into a Transit worker. She needed a cigarette. As poor as I am and thinking she's probably in better financial shape than I, I offer her a cigarette anyways. She starts asking me if I heard the news. She wanted to gossip.
I didn't understand what she was talking about, with a peaked curiosity I let her do what she wanted to do. She told me the whole Court Room was in an uproar and I believe she said everyone was laughing over what just happened. I obviously left too early.
Apparently, the decent looking guy to my far right had some sort of non-contact order in regards to his wife. His wife being the attractive enough woman on my far left. As this husband stood in front of the Judge, the Judge became aware of the wife's presence in the room.
The couple had ignored Court orders, rekindling relations and making up without the Court's permission. I suppose it would have been funny because the Judge was having none of that! It was all about "Procedure" and this couldn't be allowed to happen.
The whole reason the wife was there was to support the husband and to show the Judge that there is no reason to continue this no-contact order. The couple had already kissed and made up. Apparently, the whole Courtroom thought it was funny.
I actually feel for the Judge because not only was she a Judge I appreciated many many months ago, I actually understand her frustration with Procedures and Paperwork. I could easily ridicule her reaction in the room, but placing myself in her shoes I can understand the situation. I wish I could remember that for my own case.
Heading back inside the Courthouse the uproar was still evident. People were smiling everywhere and at the Coffee Stand, the attractive enough wife was happily in gossip over it with another woman. She seemed rather amused with the whole situation. Many people did.
I don't know how this story reads, I didn't witness the event, but perhaps it's one of those situations you have to see for yourself. I myself only witnessed the after effects, they were lasting.
