This is typical of just about everything I try to do in life.
I stop by the Mobility Provider I am accessing the internet with. I explain to the clerk that I would like to top up the account, preferably two or three months in advance. No problem, I can advance pay months, he takes my information and brings up my account.
As he is doing whatever he is doing on his end, he tells me my "new" billing date will be the 22nd of each month. This perplexes me as I am only paying in advance - just simply making a payment. Again, he states that yes, because I am making a payment my new billing day will be the 22nd of each month.
I am still perplexed as to why this is even an issue. I begin to ask what that means for the period I have already paid for. Again, he repeats that my new billing day will be the 22nd of each month, but now he strongly recommends that I do not pay today and I come in on the one month anniversary, the 13th.
Now I am beyond perplexed and I am becoming quite flabbergasted as to what could possibly be a problem with paying bills in ADVANCE. I personally cannot take more stress. As it is, the only way I function is by avoiding all stresses all together, I keep moving forward and trust me, there's plenty of things to stress about.
All our conversation does is rinse and repeat over and over. It doesn't matter the analogy I apply in trying to get a straight answer out of this clerk. All I continually get told is that he recommends that I do NOT pay my account today and that I come in on exactly the 13th. If I do not do this my billing day will change.
It's almost unbelievable, it is unbelievable. I can't even get a straight answer as to what happens to the services already paid for. Do they disappear? Are they still valid? Why would it matter what day I pay if I buy in three month allotments? Shouldn't I just get three months regardless?
He recommends again that I come in on the 13th...
I ask him to phone a manager and he tells me it won't make any difference. Gathering myself together I state "This is fucking insane. Your crazy." as I begin to prepare to leave. He then replies that if I keep cursing at him like that he will call security and have me removed.
I wasn't even cursing at him... I simply vented the truth. I looked at him asking how old he was. He looked puzzled as to why I would ask and then I simply stated never mind, I will find another store and speak to someone older and more experienced at life that you.
I vent to Facebook, I drive away and I am thinking to myself... does everyone wear diapers now a days? This world is insane. These policies, these people... I am in disbelief. All I wanted to do was to pay a bill in advance.
My phone rings...
I do not recognize the number and I wonder if I should answer... I do. It's the clerk from the mobility store. He phoned his manager. It's ok, he was wrong, I can pay months in advance and my billing date does not change. He suggests I come back.... lol
Yeah, I am miles down the highway, this is dollars in fuel spent to turn around and head back. Besides that I do not have the time, it's too expensive. All I wanted to do is to pay a bill in advance.
At least now I know so there will not be a next but, seriously... everything in my life is like this. Everything. The simplest things are complicated. It's enough to nearly drive someone insane.
