People who say one thing and do another. That's worse than never saying you are going to do anything at all.
I actually understand his position, but honestly I feel he doesn't give a care for mine. If you give an offer - keep it, especially if it's only a week or two old. Doing a 180 at two minutes to midnight to a person with all these problems, after they've managed to wriggle $1700 in credit they do not have, have people lined up, borrowed tools, and schedules to meet... ...it's just...
I understand the position but it's peanuts. Especially after I was just encouraged that it was no problem, just ask. Encouragement like that, makes me not think twice about spending money cleaning up someone's property.
The 180-degree risks the last of my reputation which will be unrecoverable. It keeps me down and dependent, it ruins our relationship and it generally makes me think you're a wanker. Not to mention it triggers me to have absolutely no sleep with an impossible deadline and all kinds of dynamics I really do not want to deal with.
Dynamics I wouldn't be dealing with if I was financially crushed... and here's the perpetual circle. I've watched for six months and I've thought... you are so much better at some things than I am, on the other hand - if the roles were reversed, I've thought many times I'd bark real loud and clear you a big path to get you on your feet.
Anyways... I don't want to be "unthankful".
