On October 18, 2015 at approximately 2100 hours, Constable Vincent TRAIETTI (Cst TRAIETTI) attended the residence of Daniel BERLADYN (BERLADYN) in regards to the suspicious letter he sent [blank] as well to canvass any possible mental health issues he may be currently experiencing.
BERLADYN was very empotional during his conversation with Cst TRAIETTI, in which he broke into tears multiple times. BERLADYN informed Cst TRAIETTI the following information as to why he sent the letter to [blank] and to his mental state.
[blank] was his pre-school teacher
[blank]became an acquaintance of his mother
[blank] was a driving factor in the deterioration of the relationship between his mother and father
He currently has a tumultuous relationship with his mother
He believes that he will not be left any inheritance because his mother will leave all her belongings including the house to his siblings (two brothers / one sister
He believes that he wasted many years of his life as well as career opportunities to care for his mother, which is going unappreciated
He now does not have access to the main floor of the residence only the bottom / basement suite
At one point he was suicidal
At present he does not feel suicidal but is feeling a bit depressed
He is currently seeing counselling
BERLADYN informed Cst TRAEITTI that he has not other reason to contact [blank] and he will refrain from contacting her (including sending further letters).
BERLADYN made a comment to Cst TRAIETTI that he does know people who could get him a gun and at times he gets so frustrated he feels like he could shoot members of his family
BERLADYN also informed Cst TRAIETTI tha the had a meeting with Port Moody Police Victim Services on October 18, 2015 and he is not sure if they can be of assistance to him.
BERLADYN's mother is currently not at the residence due to being away on vacation.
Cst TRAEITTI will notify victim services along with the Port Moody Police Community Relations Officer and Mental Health Officer regarding teh comments BERLADYN made about being able to get a firearm.
